Happy Geek Out Monday, Calgary.
Lots of Holiday events going on, again I recommend checking them out. I tried to secure some tickets for the Charlie Brown Christmas show. Unfortunately, it is so close to being sold out I could not find a show to fit my family of four. Which is a good time to remind everyone to secure their Star Wars tickets for the Last Jedi release.
I will be trying to fill out the calendar with regularly scheduled, and weekly events in the next coming weeks. Be patient as I gather that info together. But, as always, if there is something you would like to see on here, shoot me a message on the Contact Page. Come January; I will be writing more posts on more of these events, and great geek venues throughout Calgary.
For now, let’s focus on the great events happening this week:
Wordfest presents Tom Wilson
Dec. 6 @ 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Tom Wilson, the three-time Juno award-winning musician, will be at the Memorial Park Library this week promoting his memoirs, Beautiful Scars. Brought to us by Wordfest, this is a continuation of the fantastic authors the program has brought to Calgary. A fun book event worth checking out.

Naked Girls Reading is exactly what it sounds like, some bare women… reading. Combining erotica and literature, these events take place across North America. This weekends event is centred around children’s literature, but I should not need to remind you this is an 18+ event. Oh, and BYOB.

This weekend you can catch all four Mad Max films at the Globe. Starting with the original movie airing on Friday at 7 pm, and concluding with 2015’s Fury Road at 9 pm on Saturday. Fans of the cult classic films will not want to miss this chance to marathon the quadrilogy.

Comic fans, it is time to swarm down to Comic Traders this weekend for the big customer appreciation sale. All comic books, hardcovers to back issues are on for 50% off. If you still have some holiday shopping to do, you can catch some Lego or statues on sale as well.

The Ship & Anchor, 534 17 Ave SW
https://www.facebook.com/Krampus-run-calgary-1648716322066866/
For fans of cosplay, Krampus, or scaring a bunch of children, the Krampus Run is taking place this weekend. Starting at 5 pm at the Ship & Anchor Pub, even if you don’t dress up this will be an event worth seeing. Why do they need to make Christmas so creepy?
Enjoy the week and geek out Calgary!
